At Gooday Corporation Pty Ltd (furthermore referred to as “Gooday”) and our Gooday subsidiaries, we respect your privacy and are committed to maintaining your trust. This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to visitors of our Goodtimes sites, apps, software-as-a-service products, and users of the Goodtimes Services.
This Privacy Policy describes our practices and your rights in connection with information that we collect, use, or disclose through:
- Our consumer-facing mobile application (“Goodtimes App”);
- Our consumer-facing websites, currently located at https://www.goodtimesapp.co (“Goodtimes Website(s)”);
- Our online business and consumer management software products (“Software as a Service” or “Services” or “Service”);
- Our social media pages;
- Our applications through which Gooday makes the Software as a Service available, including the Goodtimes business app and the Goodtimes branded mobile app (collectively the “App”);
- HTML-formatted email messages that link to this Privacy Policy;
- Any other products and services offered through venues, websites, or mobile applications that direct you to this Privacy Policy.
Collectively, these are the “Goodtimes Services.”
By accessing or using the Goodtimes Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and acknowledge that this serves as notice at or before the point of collection for all information described below.
1. Defined Terms
- “End User” means any individual who interacts with the Goodtimes Services, including users of the Goodtimes App and individuals who book appointments, purchase services, RSVP to events, or otherwise engage with Businesses and Communities through the Goodtimes Services.
- “Other Information” means any information that does not reveal your specific identity or relate to an identifiable individual, such as usage data not linked to unique identifiers.
- “Personal Information” means data that relates to or is about an identified or identifiable natural person or household, including name, postal address, telephone number, email address, or unique online identifiers.
- “Business/Community” refers to any entity that creates an account to access or use our Software Service, including staff, employees, consultants, advisors, or independent contractors accessing the Goodtimes Services on the entity’s behalf.
- “Trojan Horsing” refers to the unauthorized use of a Goodtimes account to harvest user data, poach community members for external platforms, or misrepresent the nature of an event or business to bypass Goodtimes’ platform fee structures.
2. Categories of Personal Information
Depending on how you use the Goodtimes Services, we may collect:
- Contact details (name, address, email, phone number, emergency contacts);
- Personal details (date of birth, gender, nationality, education);
- Calendar data (event details, availability, metadata) when you connect your Google or Outlook account;
- Financial and transaction data required to facilitate booking fees and commissions;
- Health and fitness tracker data (e.g., heart rate monitors);
- Goodtimes Services usage data;
- Geolocation data (with permission);
- Images uploaded to the Goodtimes Services;
- Online identifiers (IP address, device IDs);
- Cookie-related data.
We maintain and use de-identified information without attempting to re-identify it.
3. How We Collect Information
We collect information through:
- Account creation on the Goodtimes App or Website;
- Interactions with Businesses or Communities;
- Business/Community onboarding;
- Device location settings and IP address;
- Public databases, marketing partners, and social media platforms;
- Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar (via OAuth) when you choose to connect your account.
4. How Personal Information May Be Used
We use your Personal Information for legitimate business purposes, including:
- A. Functionality: To create and administer accounts, fulfill and record transactions, and manage pricing models (including booking fees and commissions).
- B. Marketing Support: To promote events hosted exclusively on Goodtimes across our social channels.
- C. Security & Trojan Horsing: To detect fraud, misuse, or unauthorized data harvesting.
- D. Technical Improvement: To troubleshoot, maintain, and improve the Goodtimes Services.
4A. Research, Analytics & Product Development
Gooday Corporation Pty Ltd may use information collected through the Goodtimes Services for research, analytics, and product development, including:
- Understanding how people use Goodtimes;
- Improving recommendation systems, event discovery, and community coordination features;
- Developing new tools, features, and technologies;
- Measuring the effectiveness of product experiences;
- Conducting internal studies to enhance safety, reliability, and performance.
We may combine information across Goodtimes Services, devices, and accounts for these purposes. We do not sell Personal Information.
All research and analytics are conducted in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
4B. Sales, Growth & Business Development
We may use aggregated, de-identified, or business-level information to:
- Support sales, partnerships, and business development;
- Provide insights to Businesses and Communities about event performance;
- Improve Goodtimes’ commercial offerings;
- Identify trends that help us expand Goodtimes Services.
We do not share identifiable Personal Information with external partners for their own marketing unless you provide explicit consent.
5. What and How Personal Information May Be Disclosed
5.1 Business Purpose. We may disclose Contact details, Financial data, Geolocation, and Online identifiers to affiliates and integrated partners (e.g., Stripe, SendGrid, Twilio).
5.2 Liability Shift. If you interact with a Business or Community, we disclose your Personal Information to that entity. Businesses are solely responsible for complying with Australian privacy laws.
5.3 Corporate Transactions. Your data may be transferred in the event of a merger, acquisition, or reorganization.
5.4 Cross-Border Transfers. Your data may be processed in countries outside Australia, including the United States.
5.5 Content Licence. User-uploaded content may be used by Goodtimes for service operation, event promotion, and marketing.
6. Refunds and Cancellations
Refunds are handled directly between the Business and the Consumer. Goodtimes does not refund commissions, platform fees, or Stripe fees.
7. Privacy Rights
You may request access, deletion, correction, or restriction of your Personal Information.
8. Your Choices
You may opt out of marketing communications and revoke calendar access at any time.
9. Data Retention & Termination
We retain data as needed. Upon termination, your data is retained for seven (7) days before deletion.
10. Security
We use industry-standard security measures but cannot guarantee 100% security.
11. Use by Minors
Goodtimes is not directed at children under 13.
12. Technical Issues & Real-World Liability
Goodtimes is not liable for event incidents or technical issues between private and public listings.
13. Calendar Data Access and Use
Goodtimes integrates with Outlook and Google Calendar to provide scheduling, availability insights, and event management features. When you choose to connect your Google account, Goodtimes may request permission to access certain Google Calendar data. This access is always optional and requires your explicit consent through Google’s OAuth consent screen.
Types of Google Calendar Data We Access. Depending on the permissions you grant, Goodtimes may access:
- Calendar lists associated with your Google account;
- Event details, including event titles, times, locations, attendee lists, and availability;
- Calendar metadata such as time zones and calendar settings.
If you grant write permissions, Goodtimes may also:
- Create new events on your behalf;
- Edit events that you explicitly choose to modify;
- Delete events that you explicitly choose to remove.
Goodtimes does not access or store the content of emails, contacts, Google Drive files, or any other Google data outside of Calendar.
How We Use Google Calendar Data. Goodtimes uses your Google Calendar data solely to:
- Display your availability within the Goodtimes App;
- Suggest optimal times for plans and events;
- Allow you to create, edit, or delete events when you choose to do so;
- Sync Goodtimes‑created events to your Google Calendar;
- Help you manage scheduling conflicts;
- Improve the accuracy of time‑alignment features between you and your friends;
- Help participating businesses and clubs using Goodtimes manage scheduling and attendance.
Goodtimes does not use Google Calendar data for:
- Advertising;
- Marketing;
- Profiling;
- Selling or sharing with third parties;
- Any purpose unrelated to scheduling functionality.
How We Store and Protect Google Calendar Data.
- Goodtimes stores only the minimum data required to provide the service. In most cases, Goodtimes processes your calendar data in real time and does not permanently store event details unless necessary for core functionality (e.g., syncing Goodtimes‑created events).
- Any stored data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry‑standard security practices.
- Goodtimes does not store your Google password. Authentication is handled exclusively through Google’s OAuth system.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Any changes we make will become effective when we post a modified version to https://www.goodtimesapp.co. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
